‘The Expansion of The University Sets Some New Limitations And New Development Tasks’

On November 25th the Academic Council of the Higher School of Economics summarized the university’s work over the last year.

‘Our Interest Is More than just Economics’

On September 29th the first lecture in the cycle of meetings of top-managers of the largest in Europe gas company E.ON Ruhrgas AG with the university students took place at the HSE. Steffen Bruendel, Head of Cultural and Academic Affairs at the E.ON Ruhrgas Corporate Office, and Hans-Peter Floren, Member of the Board of Management, E.ON Ruhrgas AG, told us about this lecture course.

New Standards and New Departments

On June 24th this year’s final session of the HSE Academic Council took place at the HSE, where original educational standards and new editions of educational procedures were approved and new departments of the university were founded.

International Laboratories as Part of the Development Strategy

In late 2010 – early 2011 international research laboratories which are jointly headed by prominent international researchers and leading experts of the university started their work at the Higher School of Economics. Maria Yudkevich, HSE Vice Rector, told us about the specifics of the research and educational work of the HSE international laboratories.

Certified Urban Planners will be Trained in Russia

A Graduate School of Urban Studies and Planning has been launched at the HSE. The new department will be the first in Russia to train experts in urban spatial planning.

HSE Faculty of Philology: the Official Birthday

On March 25th a meeting of the HSE Academic Council took place, where a new Faculty of Philology was officially established, and other organizational solutions were approved.

HSE and NES: Joint Bachelor of Arts Programme

In September 2011 a joint undergraduate programme was launched by the Higher School of Economics and the New Economic School. Vladimir Avtonomov, Dean of the HSE Faculty of Economics, and Konstantin Sonin, Vice Rector of the New Economic School (NES), told us more about the programme.

Agreement on Cooperation in Software Engineering

In early November the Higher School of Economics and the Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands) signed a partnership agreement.

Open Academic Space

On September 17th the International Research and Educational Laboratory of Financial Economics opened at the HSE. It was founded by the HSE International College of Economics and Finance together with the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.

‘Application will be Open until September 1st’

This year a new master’s programme is being launched at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs –International Relations in Euroatlantic and Eurasian Communities. Sergey Karaganov, Dean of the Faculty, and Maxim Bratersky, Programme Coordinator and Professor at the Department of World Politics, told us about the new course.
