Alexey Novikov Named New Dean of HSE Graduate School of Urban Studies and Planning
Alexey Novikov has been named the new Dean of the HSE Graduate School of Urban Studies and Planning. He will be continuing the work of one of HSE's founders and the School's first dean, Alexander Vysokovsky, who died unexpectedly on December 22 of last year.

Professor Valery Gordin, Head of the Faculty of Economics and Management at HSE St Petersburg, presents the Master’s Programme The Experience Economy; Hospitality and Tourism Management. He is academic supervisor of the course which comes under the Events Management and Cultural Tourism field of study at HSE St Petersburg. Teaching is in Russian and English.

Evgeniy Anisimov, Tenured Professor at HSE, Awarded by Russian Government
Evgeniy Anisimov, Professor of History and Chief Research Fellow at the Centre for Historical Research (HSE Campus in St. Petersburg), has received the Russian government’s award for 2014 in the field of culture. The award recognizes Anisimov for the International Congress of the Towns and Cities of Peter the Great, a cultural and educational programme in which he serves as academic supervisor.
‘Professors’ music,’ or Klavierabend for two
On December 5, the Higher School of Economics hosted the Piano Evening for Two. The event lasted two hours, during which time Michel Grabisch, Professor of Computer Sciences at University Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne, and Sergei Erofeev, Vice Rector of HSE, performed compositions by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Ravel and Bach.
HSE Tenured Professor Oleg Voskoboynikov Has Won the Prix Maurice Wachsmacher
Associate Professor at the Department of Social History Oleg Voskoboynikov has won the Humanities Prize 2014 for his translation into Russian of French art historian Roland Recht’s Le croire et le voir: L'art des cathédrales, XIIe-XVe siècle (Believing and Seeing, The Art of Gothic Cathedrals) in a volume published by the HSE Publishing House. The prize was awarded by the French Ambassador to Russia, Jean-Maurice Ripert who signed a certificate at the ceremony for the winner to travel to France.

Antonios Platsas, a specialist in Comparative Legal Studies, European Law and International Law, is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Law.
