From July 2^nd – 7^th 2012, an international summer school on cyber law took place in Moscow region. The event was organized by the HSE Research and Educational Laboratory on Information Law. Irina Bogdanovskaya, Professor at the HSE Department of the Theory of Law and Comparative Law, told us about the School.

The laureates of the Best Article Award from the Collective Behavior and Social Movements section of the American Sociological Association have been announced in Washington, DC. One of the papers recognised is a publication by Benjamin Lind, HSE Faculty of Sociology associate professor.

On May 30^th the third annual meeting of the Higher School of Economics International Advisory Committee (IAC) opened at the HSE.

An international conference  entitled ‘Law in the Digital Era’ recently took place at the Higher School of Economics. Irina Bogdanovskaya, head of the HSE Laboratory of Information Law, told us about the results of the conference.

The Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev, has awarded honours to some researchers from the Higher School of Economics for their work on the Strategy 2020 expert groups, including organization of the groups, the preparation of suggestions on topical issues for Russian socio-economic strategy up to 2020 and their personal input into the expert and analytical work

Filipp Bykov, lecturer at the HSE Faculty of Economics Department of Higher Mathematics, has been awarded a medal by the Russian Academy of Sciences.

On February 22^nd Russian President Dmitry Medvedev awarded President of the Higher School of Economics, Alexander Shokhin the order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’, 3^rd class.

On December 1^st an inauguration ceremony for Alexander Rahr, a prominent expert in Russian-German relations, as Honorary Professor of the HSE took place at the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs. After the event he gave a lecture on the history, problems and dynamics of the bilateral politics of Germany and Russia.
