HSE University Ranks As One of Russia’s Top Entrepreneurial Universities
This year, the Expert Analytical Centre’s ranking of Russian entrepreneurial universities evaluated 46 universities, 18 of which are participants of Russia’s 5-100 Project. In the ranking, HSE, together with Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University, took 2nd-4th places, while MIPT ranked first. The ranking’s methodology places special emphasis on startups launched by university graduates, the number of founding graduates at these companies, and the amount of investments these projects have received.
Students of HSE Graduate School of Business Win in Future Retail Challenge 2020
Students of the Master's programme in ‘Retail Management’ of the Graduate School of Business are the first Russians to win the Future Retail Challenge, an international competition in which national student teams compete. The competition is held as part of the World Retail Congress, which has been held since 2007. The winners were announced at the World Retail Awards.
Faculty of Computer Science First Year Student Wins Gold at International Olympiad in Informatics
Semyon Savkin, a graduate of Moscow School No. 57 and student of HSE University’s Bachelor's Programme in Applied Mathematics and Information, has won gold in theInternational Olympiad in Informatics individual all-around among school students from 87 countries. Nikita Pershukov, a 4th-year bachelor’s student studying Information Science and Computation Technology at the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE), has placed among the Russian national team’s expanded membership for the WorldSkills Russia competition in the ‘Network and System Administration’ category. Russian Participants Earn Three Gold Medals in the International Economics Olympiad
For the second year in a row, a team representing Brazil won the team-level gold medal of the International Economics Olympiad. Silver was taken by Indonesia’s team, while Russia’s team took bronze. In the assessment of individual participants, Russian participants won three gold medals and two bronze medals.

HSE Now Among World’s Top 200 Universities for Research in THE University Rankings
This year, HSE University has maintained its position in the 251-300 range in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The University ranks among the top 3 Russian universities along with Moscow State University (which ranks 174th) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (which ranks in the 201-250 range). In the THE’s global ranking of the best universities for research, HSE ranks 199th.
