Zhang Caiyu is a Master’s student at HSE – St. Petersburg. Originally from China, Zhang Caiyu moved to Kiev, Ukraine as a Bachelor’s student, where she majored in the Russian language. Of course, it then made total sense to continue her education here in Russia. She is now a student in HSE’s 'Experience Economy: Hospitality and Tourism Management' programme. Here are her impressions of the university, the people, and the beautiful city of St. Petersburg.
Two Programmes of Higher School of Marketing and Business Development Acknowledged in Europe
Two continuing education programmes at the HSE, ‘Marketing for Professionals’ and ‘Master in Marketing’, have been accredited by the European Marketing Confederation. Now, graduates can take additional exams and receive certificates recognized by European companies, including those operating in Russia.

MIEM HSE Training Specialists in Internet of Things and Cyber-physical Systems
The world is on the threshold of the fourth industrial revolution- production will be entirely digital. With cheap wireless communication, the Internet of Things is rapidly developing - a set of physical objects which interact as part of a global network. It will soon amount to tens of billions. From 2018, the MIEM HSE Master's programme, ‘Internet of Things and Cyber-physical Systems’ will train specialists capable of developing and managing such systems.
HSE’s New Master’s Programme: Training Specialists in Language Policy
The first intake into this new Master’s programme will be in 2018 and its graduates will be able to work in the field of language policy. Last year, a team of Advanced Urban Design students from the Graduate School of Urbanism and Strelka Institute embarked on a research expedition to Johannesburg, where they studied problems associated with food security, poverty and inequality.

HSE Students Turn Books and Museums into Transmedia Stories
For two years in a row, students in the Master’s programme in Transmedia Production in Digital Industries have worked closely with publishing and museum experts, as well as lecturers from the HSE School of Media to reinvent the role of printed books and the traditional tasks of Russian museums. Some of their book projects were presented at the Non-fiction exhibition this year, and the museum projects will be implemented for the public.

Amand van Rossum, student of a MA Programme in International Relations, has been part of the International Students’ Association since its foundation, first serving as its Vice-Chair and then becoming the Student Advisor and PR Officer.
