Oxford Professor Visits HSE in Saint Petersburg
At the invitation of the Laboratory of Sociology in Education and Science, renowned sociologist and statistician Tom Snijders is visiting HSE St. Petersburg on March 9-12. Dr. Snijders is a Professor at Oxford University (Great Britain), an emeritus fellow of Nuffield College, and a Professor at the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
HSE to get its own sports center

Demographic Decline to Support Labour Market
The labour market in Russia differs from that in other countries. The Russian labour market does not react to decline and crisis with growing unemployment, and the market recuperates quickly. The reason for this is that employers have a great amount of flexibility; they do not fire employees, instead cutting their pay and work hours, according to the Deputy Director of HSE’s Centre for Labour Market Studies Rostislav Kapeliushnikov.
