The HSE International Admissions Office organised a guided tour of HSE University's campus on Pokrovsky Bulvar in Moscow for visitors from Vietnam who are studying Russian—a group of 20 students at Thai Nguyen High School for the Gifted and Foreign Language Specialised School, Vietnam National University, participants of the 'Russian Teacher Abroad' international project.

People in China and Japan Demonstrate a Higher Risk Propensity than Russians
An international team of authors, including researchers at HSE University have examined decision-making by nationals of 11 countries. It turns out that people universally tend to make more mistakes when confronted with the need for quick decision-making and expected to weigh the pros and cons of available options on their own. However, when the advantages and disadvantages of each option are known to them, the behaviour of individuals from different nationalities varies depending on their cultural level of risk aversion. The paper has been published in Nature Human Behaviour.
HSE University and Vietnam National University Sign Cooperation Agreement
On June 20, 2024, the parties exchanged copies of the agreement as part of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Vietnam. The ceremony was held in the presence of the leaders of the two countries at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. Head of the HSE delegation, Vice Rector Victoria Panova, and VNU Rector Le Quan also participated in the event. In addition, HSE University representatives signed a memorandum of understanding and an addendum with the Institute of Mathematics of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
Results of the HSE International Competition Announced
726 participants received certificates of achievement (winners’ diplomas), and more than 200 have already become HSE students. This event is one of the largest and most recognised projects of HSE University, which allows participants to gain university admission with a full or partial scholarship. Registration for the competition in Russian is already underway. Soon, registration for the HSE International Olympiad in English (INTO HSE) will kick off.
HSE University-St Petersburg Hosts 50 Students from Top Indian Universities
HSE University-St Petersburg hosted the Indian Students Week. The event gathered more than 50 students from India. The students represented 15 top universities in the country. In particular, there were representatives of IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, UPES, IIM Amritsar and others. The goal of this large-scale initiative of HSE University-St Petersburg is to introduce talented students from India to educational opportunities in Russia, in particular, HSE educational programmes in four directions: business and economics, design, social and computer sciences.
Anti-Lectures, Jazz-Funk, and Drawing: HSE University Holds Economfest 2024
The Faculty of Economic Sciences celebrated its 32nd birthday. Students, graduates, teachers, and friends gathered for the traditional EconomFest at HSE University on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The event featured quizzes from language clubs, contests, lectures, and meetings with teachers. Festival guests enjoyed dancing, drawing lessons, new acquaintances and a three-tier cake, ie everything needed to make it a truly special event.

Youth Considers Education the Main Life Choice
Researchers from HSE University have conducted a study among graduate students to identify which life choice they consider the most important. All respondents linked their successes and failures to education. Decisions in other significant areas, such as relationships with loved ones or choosing a place to live, were often viewed through the lens of education. The study was published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology.
