Claudia Goldin's award was predicted by five people. They are Olga Peresypkina (RSVPU), Anastasia Sirotina (first-year student of the Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics and Information Science at HSE University), Mikhail Shabanov (Global Vision Asset Management LLC), Tatul Hayrapetyan (PhD student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business), and Hemant Kumar (Ettumanoorappan College, Kerala, India).

This year, three economists received the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel: Ben Bernanke, Douglas Diamond and Philip Dybvig. For participants of the prediction contest, the jury's choice turned out to be quite unexpected—only six people guessed one of the three Nobel laureates.

The Faculty of Economic Sciences is holding a contest to predict the winners of the 2022 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. Participants can name up to three candidates, and whoever makes the most accurate prediction will receive a prize.

HSE Students Reach the Finals of an International Business Case Contest

A team of 4th-year Economic students from HSE Perm has won first prize in the Russian stage of an international contest in business case solutions, The Unilever Future Leaders' League. They will represent Russia in the finals of the contest, which will take place in March 2015 in London.

HSE Student Team Reaches Final of the World Championship in Programming

The HSE team in sport programming has taken part  in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest NEERC and reached the final. Following a fierce battle in the semifinal, the HSE students came seventh out of the 250 teams which entered the contest.

HSE Law Faculty Team Going to Washington for the “Jessup”

The HSE Law Faculty team are finalists for the first time in the Russian stage of the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Competition which finished on February 3rd. The competition started in 1960 when it was between two teams at the Harvard Faculty of Law (on Cuban agricultural reform), since when it has travelled around the world. The competition acquired the name of the famous American international lawyer and judge at the International Court from 1961 to 1970, Phillip C. Jessup (1897-1986)
