HSE to Hold its First Fun Run

Run √25, the first fun run organized by HSE, will take place on May 28 at Gorky Park. Our University is now 25 years old, and we’ll run 5 km together to celebrate this anniversary (or rather, our ‘anti-versary’) - along Pushkinskaya Naberezhnaya and Andreevskaya Naberezhnaya, from the Green Theatre to Luzhnetsky Bridge, and back again. Think of it as running from the darkness of ignorance, unbelievable stupidity, and bad grades as fast as we can!

HSE to Build Sport Complex in Moscow

HSE will build a three-story fitness complex near the Kaluzhskaya metro stop in Moscow, adding to the university’s sports and recreation infrastructure. The complex will include a swimming pool along with a number of fitness rooms and sports halls. The Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Development has already given the project the green light. Let’s see what the city’s Chief Architect Sergey Kuznetsov had to say about HSE’s new addition.

HSE Day for Athletic People

Learning a new sport is good for the brain and no worse than traditional intellectual games. And who needs a clear mind more than a student? That’s why a lot of sports clubs have been established at HSE, and they will be represented at the ‘Sports and Activities’ platform.

Game for Gentlemen and Students

He told us about the benefits of this sport and about how to join the rugby club at HSE.

Economics of sports was one of the topics featured at the recent April Academic Conference. A section led by HSE Deputy Vice Rector Dmitry Dagaev included sessions dedicated to financial and organizational regulation, competitive balance, and determinants of success in sport. Two of the sessions were moderated by international scholars, Prof. Dennis Coates and Dr. Tim Pawlowski, who have talked to HSE News about their research interests and the importance of sports in modern global economy.

'Being Athletic Means Being Successful'

In 2012, HSE alumnus Evgeny Koudryavtsev opened the football school Championka for pre-schoolers. At the school, kids are able to develop social skills and a ‘sense of the ball’ using Western methodologies. In the latest edition of Success Builder, Evgeny discusses the advantages to such an approach, as well as how Harvard does athletics and why a businessman should be athletic.

What is the connection between the cockroaches in our homes and the ones in our head? According to the work of HSE alumna Alisa Simonenko, the founder of the Reforma project, the connection is direct. Simonenko first created a pest extermination company before realising how she could help people find the source of their personal happiness. Alisa tells Success Builder how she uses science to give people peace of mind, why her project Reforma is not like the company Secta, and how to eat whatever you want without gaining weight. HSE Day, which is one of the university’s biggest events that took place on September 9 this year, featured the Reforma Higher School of Fitness.
