EFKO, a Russian food manufacturer and one of the country’s largest agro-industrial holdings, has launched the Assistants programme in partnership with HSE University. This practice-oriented module gives selected HSE students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of management directly from EFKO’s Chairman of the Board and Innovation Director.

The students will study EFKO’s best practices in marketing and sociological research, human-resources management, the use of artificial intelligence in business, and the creation of management systems—all under the direct supervision of the company’s top managers.

The module is being implemented as part of a joint EFKO–HSE project to establish a research and production consortium focused on developing and introducing new technologies in robotics. In particular, a decision has already been made to set up the HSE Institute for Robotics Systems. It will serve as a centre for developing advanced robotics solutions, drawing on the university’s strong academic foundations. Students and postgraduate researchers are expected to be actively involved in research and development, helping to train a new generation of specialists for high-tech industries.

Rostislav Kovalevsky

EFKO Innovation Director

‘At EFKO, we focus on young talent: we have experience in shaping employees from promising and talented newcomers to leaders of innovative business sectors. We are eager to share this experience and help students master management competencies quickly and effectively. HSE is one of the best domestic universities. Our choice of partner was obvious. We are hopeful of seeing the project’s primary results soon.’

Leonid Gokhberg

First Vice Rector

‘This project is a unique case for HSE: here, the industrial partner is not simply commissioning research or sponsoring grants for students and staff, but putting forward a systemic and comprehensive initiative oriented towards the future. It is about nurturing professionals, and I believe this is an investment in the country’s future.’
